Easy Lime Shrimp Recipe. When I’m looking for a quick protein to add to a weeknight dinner,I often turn to shrimp, because thawing it is easy and cooking it is fast. This chili lime shrimp is loaded with flavor,
and I’m gonna show you how easy it is to prepare it.First, I’m Yumna, aka Feel Good Foodie.I share wholesome, nutritious recipes that make your body feel good.We all know that shrimp is loaded
with good-for-you nutrients,like omega-3 fatty acids.Easy Lime Shrimp Recipe.
And today, I want to share with you a fun way to cook shrimp so you can reap those benefits at home.Chili powder and lime go so well with shrimp, and this dish pairs so well with any protein.
So here’s what you’ll need.We have a pound of raw shrimp, olive oil, cumin, chili powder, salt, lime juice, lime zest, garlic, and cilantro to finish off the dish.So let’s get started.
We’re gonna just put everything right on top of the shrimp and then marinade it.We’ll add three tablespoons of olive oil,1/4 of a cup of lime juice, the zest of one lime, one teaspoon of chili powder,
1/2 a teaspoon of cumin,1/2 a teaspoon of salt, and two garlic cloves that are pressed or minced. Now give it all a good stir.Easy Lime Shrimp Recipe.
And now we’re just gonna seal it and refrigerate it for 20 to 30 minutes to allow the shrimp to marinate. You want to make sure not to marinate over 30 minutes, because that lime juice
is actually going to cook the shrimp, and we don’t want that. All right, it’s been about 20 minutes,so let’s check up on the shrimp. All right, it looks really good. And allowing it to marinate for 20 to 30 minutes
is really gonna enhance the flavor and just deepen it,so I highly recommend getting that started, put it in the fridge, and then you can get your sides ready while that’s marinating.
So now we’re going to transfer the shrimp to a heated pan.Easy Lime Shrimp Recipe.
Now, if you ever experienced rubbery shrimp, that’s because the shrimp is probably overcooked. So really, the shrimp only needs two to three minutes per side.So just watch it.As soon as it starts
to turn an opaque pink, flip it over. Some of these are already kind of turning pink, see, like that.Flip them over. And it’s important when you’re cooking the shrimp, set it on the pan, flip
it over once, and that’s it.So don’t be flipping it and touching it too much.Just leave it alone. All right, and that’s it.It’s been a couple of minutes, and let’s test one of the shrimp
on the other side. And it looks fully cooked and pink, just like that. You’re looking for opaque pink like that so it’s not translucent and it’s not purple anymore.Easy Lime Shrimp Recipe.
So that’s done.Let’s remove the shrimp from the heat.Allow that sauce to settle down. And then what I like to do is hit it with some fresh cilantro and squeeze some fresh lime juice on top.
So there you have it.The chili lime shrimp literally cooks in four to five minutes. It’s super easy, and you can serve it with whatever sides you like.I like to serve it with some Jasmine white rice.
It goes really well with it.You can also serve it with zucchini noodles,or cauliflower rice,or in tacos, whatever it is you want to do.So let’s go ahead and plate it on top of the rice.
Get some of that sauce in there.Easy Lime Shrimp Recipe.
We’ll add some lime pieces and some fresh cilantro. And there you have it, a simple weeknight meal that’s loaded with flavor,so easy to put together, and pairs well with so many different side dishes.
